GRAND RAPIDS, August 21, 2023 – Fox Motors announced that it acquired Kia of Grand Rapids North from the Liechty Auto Group, based out of Alabama. This acquisition doubles Fox Motors’ Kia portfolio in Grand Rapids, Michigan and brings Fox’s West Michigan automotive portfolio to 18 locations, representing 16 brands.
Kia of Grand Rapids North, located at 4575 Plainfield Avenue NE, Grand Rapids, will now operate as Fox Kia North. Fox Motors also owns Fox Kia, located at 4141 28th Street SE, serving the southern Grand Rapids metro region. These two (2) dealerships will provide the region with an expansive Kia lineup including the popular rugged Telluride, the Kia EV6, named 2023 World Performance Car, and the all-new all-electric Kia EV9 expected later this year.

This acquisition brings the Fox Motors portfolio to 45 locations in Michigan and Illinois, representing 47 automotive and powersports brands. Fox Motors has been active in 2023, adding Fox Buick GMC and Fox Isuzu Truck in Farmington Hills, MI, and Fox Subaru Macomb in Macomb, MI. In addition, Fox Motors added Fox Ford PreOwned and Service Center in Reed City, MI, to the Fox Motors lineup this past July.

Fox Kia North’s day-to-day operations will be overseen by General Manager, John Phillips. Currently, Phillips is the General Manager of Fox Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM, located on Plainfield Avenue in Grand Rapids and will continue to oversee both campuses.
