GRAND RAPIDS, MI, May 20, 2025 – Diane Maher, President and Chief Operating Officer of Fox Motors, has been named among the 100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry by Automotive News. Maher and her co-honorees were featured in the May 19 issue and celebrated at a gala the evening of May 19 at The Henry in Dearborn, Mich., hosted by Automotive News.
100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry recognizes female leaders in the automotive field – those who make major decisions and have significant influence at their companies. Automotive News has published the list of the industry’s top female executives every five years since 2000.
Diane Maher is President and Chief Operating Officer of Fox Motors and President and Chief Strategy Officer of DP Fox Ventures, LLC — a diversified management company with interests in real estate, transportation, fashion, sports, and entertainment. A CPA by training, Diane began her career at Deloitte & Touche LLP, where she served as Audit Manager before joining DP Fox in 1993. She has played a key role in every Fox Motors acquisition since its founding in 2000 and has helped expand the company to 45 locations representing 63 automotive and powersports brands.
Ms. Maher provides strategic leadership and direction for Fox Motors, guiding the execution of the company’s mission, vision, and values. She works closely with executive leadership to ensure alignment across all business functions, drive innovation, and support sustainable growth.
She is deeply involved in community and board leadership, serving as Vice Chairman and Global Board Member for Our Daily Bread Ministries, where she also contributes as a member of the Executive Committee and the Finance & Audit Committee. She is also a Founding Member and CEO of the One Starfish Foundation, and serves on the Board and Executive Committee of the West Michigan Policy Forum.
This sixth list includes engineers, mobility leaders, manufacturing and marketing executives, financiers, dealer principals and designers.
“Over the last 25 years, on six lists of Leading Women, Automotive News has honored 442 executives. This year’s group of Leading Women has 24 presidents and CEOs and nine other C-suite executives; the first group, in 2000, had 14 presidents and CEOs and five others in the C-suite,” said Mary Beth Vander Schaaf, Automotive News senior director of editorial operations
The 2025 class of Automotive News’ 100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry emerged from a months-long nomination and judging process that attracted hundreds of entries from the United States, Canada and Mexico.
“Our selection committee made many difficult decisions – it gets tougher every time,” said Vander Schaaf. “The talented, powerful executives on this list are at the forefront of thousands of successful women in the auto industry.”
